Basic Volunteer Training (BVT)
Course includes leadership/program age level skills including: girl/adult planning/partnership; developing a troop calendar; health/safety resources; earning awards; activity progression; age level characteristics; Girl Scout terms; and conducting a troop meeting.
Adult volunteers in the Leader (01) and Assistant Leader (02) positions should complete this course within their first year of volunteer leadership.
The Course Includes Basic Volunteer Skills:
- Helping girls to select activities that support the four program goals
- Health and safety standards
- How to prepare a troop calendar

- Earning recognitions
- Girl Scout terms
- Conducting a troop meeting
Prerequisite:
- Welcome to Girl Scouting (New Volunteer Orientation)
- Welcome to Girl Scouting is conducted by the Overseas Committee Chair (or her/his designee) in your local community
Course Fee:
- Basic Volunteer Training is offered free-of-charge as a service to our membership
- All transportation costs are the responsibility of the participants
