Program Grade Level Self Study Guides

After a volunteer has completed Welcome to Girl Scouting (New Volunteer Orientation - conducted by their assigned Overseas Committee Chair), Basic Leader Training (BLT) and/or Basic Volunteer Training (BVT) they may request a Program Grade Level Self Study Guide for:

  • Girl Scout Daisies
  • Girl Scout Brownies
  • Girl Scout Juniors
  • Cadettes/Seniors/Ambassadors.

You can either request a hardcopy of this resource or download the appropriate Self Study Guide. Use the download icons at the bottom of this page. Hard copies of the Self Study Guide are requested on an individual basis only. OCCs may download multiple copies if they choose.

In order to receive credit for this learning opportunity, adults must have completed the following pre-requisites:

  • Welcome to Girl Scouting (New Volunteer Orientation)
  • Basic Volunteer Training (6.5 hours through USAGSO-NA or equivalent from another location) or Basic Leader Training (BLT) - Online

Leaders/advisors must complete the entire Self Study Guide including all activities and Equivalency Test in order to receive credit.

  • The entire Self Study Guide must be returned to USAGSO-North Atlantic for review
  • Leaders/advisors must receive at least 80% on the Equivalency Test in order to receive credit

Course Content:

  • Program Grade Level Basics (Girl Scout Leadership Experience, Program Resources)
  • Program Activities (Awards, Bridging)
  • Troop Meetings
  • Troop Government
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Evaluation (Evaluating Activities and Safety)
  • Equivalency Test

The Program Grade Level Self Study Courses are free of charge as a service to our membership.

Course Completion:

  • USAGSO-NA will issue an e-mail certificate of completion. Unless requested, the guide is not returned to the volunteer.
  • Please print and give this to your Overseas Committee Chair who will be authorized to sign your Learning (Training) Record for 3 hours credit.
